Celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, Pier Paolo Pasolini’s delirious The Canterbury Tales brings to the screen eight of Geoffrey Chaucer’s erotic tales. Shot in England and offering a remarkably earthy re-creation of the medieval era, this film is an endlessly imaginative and vivid work of merry blasphemy, featuring glimpses of Chaucer (played by Pasolini himself) penning his famous work.
