The Legend of the Christmas Witch 2: The Origins

Set in the 18th century, this fantastical prequel to the hugely popular comedy The Legend of the Christmas Witch (IFF19 ) follows Paola (Zoe Massenti), a young, reckless street urchin who inadvertently gets in the way of the plans of the terrifying Baron De Michelis (Fabio De Luigi). A small and mean hunchbacked man, he has an immense thirst for power and a boundless hatred towards witches.

The intervention of the sweet and powerful Dolores (Monica Bellucci), a good witch who dedicates her life to children, saves Paola from danger. Amongst a magical apprenticeship, breakneck pursuits, incredible transformations and a whole lot of trouble, Paola will discover that fate has something very special in store for her. And so the legends begins…

Written by Nicola Guaglianone (It’s the Law IFF17 ) and featuring an excellent ensemble cast, this family adventure expresses the power of imagination and fantasy, telling the story of the origins of the Befana.
